From the office floor
Notes on how we built our office services business, the work that taught us something, and where we are headed next.

We answered our first client's phones today
For a long time this was just a spreadsheet and a lot of phone calls. This morning we picked up the line for a small firm in Manchester, greeting their callers in their company name, and the business felt real for the first time.
The idea is simple. Plenty of small offices want a professional front desk without the cost of a full time hire, but they do not want to chase ten different providers or hand their work to a faceless call centre. We answer well, we take care over every message, and we run it as one tidy arrangement at a fair price. Reception, mail, documents, the things people actually ask for.
We are starting small and we are starting careful. Every client this year will get the same attention this one did.

Six months in, and mail handling is where the demand is
When we opened we expected call answering to carry the business. What surprised us is how much of our work has gone into mail and document handling. A single client this quarter had us sorting, scanning and forwarding their post daily, and the repeat requests have followed.
We learned a hard lesson on process along the way. Paperwork needs a clear system, and our first setup was not built for it. We have since put proper logging and a single shared inbox in place, which has cut our turnaround on routine requests almost in half.
Slow and steady, but the direction is clear. Office support is a reliability business as much as a helpful one.

Supporting clients through a difficult year
The last twelve months tested every business we work with. Teams went remote overnight, post still needed handling, and clients needed someone dependable to pick up. We made a decision early on to be honest about what we could and could not cover, and to never promise hours we were not sure we could hold.
That honesty kept our clients with us. We added bookkeeping admin to what we offer this year, invoicing and expense logging, because the same offices using our reception cover were asking for them. It made sense to be the one call they had to make.
We came out of the year quieter in some weeks and busier in others, but with a reputation we are proud of.

How we set up a new client before we go live
A question we get asked a lot is what taking on the work actually means in practice. For us it means a process, not just a price. Every brief is scoped twice, every task is agreed in writing, and the way you want things handled is logged before we answer a single call.
We have built ways of working that let us slot into a business quickly and quietly, at whatever level of cover the client needs. No surprises, no hidden hours. If we are not clear on how you want it done, we ask before we start.
Five years in, the model has not really changed. Scope it well, agree everything, get it done on time.

What the 2025 workload tells us about our clients
Our work this year says a lot about who we serve. Reception cover has been our most requested service, combined support packages are going to small offices that want one team for everything, and bookkeeping admin has quietly become a steady line of its own.
We are going deeper into fewer, better services rather than spreading thin across everything. Our clients are small businesses and offices who value handing the routine work to people they trust, and they reward a provider who keeps the arrangement simple and the standard high.
It has been a good year, and it set us up for the change we had been planning for a while.

12 December 2025Commodities
We are opening a commodities line
After seven years supporting businesses with office services, we are doing something new. From this month Enterprize Technology Ltd is trading commodities as well. Fresh and frozen fruit, vegetables, lentils and pulses, vegetable oil, rice, sugar and textiles, all in wholesale quantities our clients can trust us for.
The reason is straightforward. Many of the businesses we support also buy food and household goods in volume, and they kept asking whether we could help. We spent a good part of this year building the supplier relationships and the cold storage to do it properly, the same way we built the services side.
Nothing about how we work is changing. We scope it well, we check what we sell, and we deliver in bulk on time. There is now simply a second tab to choose from.

22 December 2025Commodities
First commodities deliveries are on the road
Ten days after announcing the new line, our first commodities orders have gone out. A wholesaler took a pallet of basmati rice and vegetable oil, and a catering customer ordered fresh produce by the case. Seeing a lorry leave for a client we already support on the admin side felt like the right kind of milestone.
We are keeping the early range focused on what sells in volume and stores well, and we are listening closely to what customers ask for next. If there is a staple you buy in bulk and would like us to carry, tell us. That is exactly how the services business grew.
Here is to the next chapter.
